Conveniently located next to the Louis Armstrong International Airport in Kenner, LA; SSE’s 4,000 sqft USACE validated laboratory has been custom-made to meet a variety of materials testing needs. We specialize in soil, concrete, and asphalt testing. We are able to perform these tests in accordance with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards. We also have qualified staff for pile drive monitoring and vibration monitoring, if needed.
The work in New Orleans is unique. It is large and rapidly moving. A firm must perform or be replaced. SSE’s past performances speak for itself in New Orleans. In addition to having a close working relationship with the USACE we have also supported contractors such as Tetra Tech, Archer Western Contractors, Southern Services, and WR Compass to name just a few. While SSE is not the biggest testing company in New Orleans we are quickly gaining a reputation as one of the top testing companies in the region.

Lance Cravens, Project Engineer/ Lab Manager, oversees all our quality technicians on every operation in the Kenner Laboratory. He is available to assist with contractor questions/concerns and performs quality assurance throughout the entire testing process from collecting materials to conducting tests to posting results.
