• Dock Environmental Assessments and Permitting
AmerenUE and FERC now require all commercial marinas, large boat docks, and any significant shoreline developments to be permitted prior to the construction of their dock or docks.
This assessment looks at the impact on the environment and the immediate surrounding area. We help developers navigate the regulatory maze and advise them everything they need to think about. We also assist them in contacting the various government agencies, such as the conservation commission, water patrol, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, and many others. We work in concert with AmerenUE, and the dock builder to assure that the project will meet the requirements needed in a timely manner.
• Encapsulated floats Testing
The guidelines and requirements for dock floats are constantly changing. It is important to have your float materials tested to make sure it meets the new guidelines. LOE performs quality assurance and quality control tests to insure that the floats meet specifications for lakes and waterways around the country. We can test all float manufactures such as Permafloat, Galva Foam, InsulBead, and Atlantic-Meeco and many others.
• Waste Water Treatment Facility Operation and Management
LOE holds a Class D operator license. Manage and maintain all system types form Sand filters to Extended Aeration systems. In addition we are able to install Chlorination / de-chlorination systems as well as UV systems. Together SSE & LOE are better able to assist with various compliance issues from Notices of Violations to Letters of Warning.
• Drinking water distribution system management
LO Environmental holds a DS1 operator license; and is able to manage small municipal drinking water systems with populations up to 3,300. LO Environmental will service and perform all required system management and oversight of repairs and installation of all equipment related to the system. Together SSE & LO Environmental support you through the numerous and various compliance issues. This partnership also provides better planning for the development and growth of the distribution system over the long haul.

• Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan
SSE & LOE also can help you prepare a Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan. If you store oil, fuel, or greases in any form you must have a SPCC plan. This plan is required by the State Of Missouri and the EPA. It is designed to protect our rivers, lakes and ground water supply by identifying what measures you will take in case of an unplanned release. We can help you develop a plan that meets all the governments’ guidelines and answers all their requirements. Keep in mind transportation companies, fuel storage terminals; marinas, resorts, and gas stations owners can be fined by the EPA for not having this prepared plan.

We have the capabilities to perform a full spectrum of water quality tests. Our state of the art laboratory allows us to not only test basic water quality, but we can also test for specific problems. Additionally, we can test and monitor hazardous waste samples and mold is becoming a bigger problem in homes and businesses.

Wastewater testing- Full Bacterial Testing -E-coli and Fecial; Storm water monitoring. NPDES compliance.
Drinking water analysis- for communities, municipalities, non-transient non-community water supplies, industry and private individuals. We also provide analysis for bottled waters and other purified water sources.
Composite sampling- is a requirement in most wastewater treatment plant licenses, and a portable composite sampler is an ideal tool for collecting those samples.
Solid waste or hazardous waste- testing for permitting to disposal facilities, we provide complete analytical services. We can interpret the data and work directly with your permit reviewers.
Heavy metals testing and organics- to complete required priority pollutant or Total Toxic Organic (TTO) monitoring.
